Favorite Finance Podcasts of 2024

I have about 4 hours every day at work that I can choose between listening to music, or listening to a podcast. Some mornings, I choose an uplifting playlist with Kanye West and Doja Cat. Most mornings, I listen financial podcasts. It's a little difficult for me to keep up with current events happening in the world and in the stock markets, so I turn to podcasts to sort of sum things up for me. This list is order of my preference.

Motley Fool Money

I can not spread enough praise to this podcast series. The guest speakers are diverse, there's a bit of comedy, the information is easy to digest. I never feel left out of what events are making heavy moves in the stock market. They also touch on retirement, FAFSA, and long term COVID impacts. Quite frankly, the opinions are refreshing af.

The Money Guy Show

The Money Guy Show used to be number one on the list for me. I still love when they bring on guest speakers who introduce a third opinion on real estate investing and purchasing property. Aside from that, I think that this show is one that you turn to once you get out of your Dave Ramsey phase. Don't lie, we’ve all been wrapped up in following Ramsey's financial principles at a point. Most of America is facing some sort of debt-related hardship. It's natural to turn to a social support person!

The Money Guy Show got a little repetitive for me, and it didn't entirely fit in with my lifestyle. A few of their rules feel a bit out of touch with the reality of what rent and car payments look like in 2024. I am also someone who would rather have an expensive car payment and opt for cheaper housing expenses. I can't help but feel a little judged when I have a hobby within the electric car community and there’s someone in my ear like saying “YOU DO NOT NEED THAT TYPE OF CAR AT 25”. I think if you can afford something comfortably, and it excites you in a way that does not have to do with the acceptance of others, you should go for it!

The Journal by Wall Street Money

I LOVE this series. As I mentioned before, I do not have a lot of time in my schedule to watch the news or to do as many deep dives into companies as I'd like. The Journal podcast answers a lot of questions that we’ve all had in the back of our minds. I am not entirely caught up with this podcast - but the last thing that I listened to was about some juicy drama with Elon Musk and his obsession with population growth. Think of it like The Real Housewives of Atlanta meets The First 48.

Girls That Invest

I really adore how much attention this podcast has been receiving lately. Thanks to TikTok, I have alot of my friends coming to me with things that they’ve learned from GTI, and asking for clarification. I love that! I love when women are spreading educational resources and useful financial information between one another. Girls That Invest also has this really funny section of their podcast where people send in their sticky financial situations, and the girls talk it out and give some amazing advice. It is absolutely worth listening to.

If you guys have anything else that you believe belongs on this list, let me know!
