Better Sour Takeover

We should probably start with how I found this brand in the first place, right? I was heading to the movies solo one night to see A Quiet Place: Day One (horrible movie btw), and I had this bright idea to leave the house a little earlier to do some self care spending at Target before I hit the theater. We all know that movie theaters make the majority of their income from concessions so naturally, they milk the convenience aspect of you already being at the movies. As a result, they charge $65 and a limb of your first born for a bag of skittles. So not only was I going to Target for a mini skirt or some jeans, I was also going to do a bit of intentional shopping for snacks. As most of you guys know, I have been having alot of issues with my stomach which have only gotten worse over the past few months. I feel like this has shifted a lot of my opinions for when I step into the snack aisle at the local grocery store. Instead of thinking “will this flavor be fun and addicting?”, I am forced to think now like “how much time am I shaving off of my life by putting harmful chemicals from Doritos into my system”. Just to clarify, I do not always let this way of thinking deter me. I do still like to house a bag of those cheesy triangles sent in from the gods from time to time. Just typing this out now is putting a sensual tingle up my spine. Wow.

Returning to the point, once I finished grabbing a cute skirt, dress, and a couple of tank tops, I made my way to the snack aisle. Expecting to be completely disappointed, I truthfully dreaded that walk to the other side of the store. Upon arrival, I saw the usual Smart Sweets (who deserves a lifetime in hell), some other random brands….. and then the colorful packaging of these Better Sour bags.

Upon first impression - my marketing degree came into full play here. I think I audibly was like “oh wow! This is some really impressive packaging design”. I love that there is a ziploc because as I've gotten older, my tolerance for sugar has diminished. I can literally eat two bites of a KitKat and be done for the rest of the week. Having that option to indulge in a sweet treat and then put the rest of the bag away for later was a phenomenal experience!

I read further into the ingredients, flavors, calories, and sourcing. I was giving high fives all around until I read that they were women owned? Oh yea, just go ahead and slide into my cart. THANKS!

Long story short, I was in that movie theater messing this bag all the way UP. By the time I looked down at the end of the trailers, my gummy snacks were gone! I don’t know what big back clone has come over me, but boy was I pissed. These snacks are a perfect chew and swallow, just like your traditional fruit snack. There is no weird after taste, no residue left on your fingers, the flavors are recognizable and fun!

I highly recommend going to your local Target or Amazon to try this healthy alternative snack to fruit snacks. They are plant-based and naturally flavored. You are going to be in love!

Your favorite snacking test-dummy,

Fran.
